Ryan Giggs enjoyed his first match in charge of Manchester United by picking up a 4-0 victory against Norwich City. The Welshman was appointed as the interim coach of the Premier League club when David Moyes had to be sacked about 1 week ago and it seems like the former star of the club, Giggs will be taking his turn in the hot seat for the remainder of the season.
Wayne Rooney had a few words to say regarding some of the recent changes and events that the club has been suffering from.
Rooney told Sky Sports. “But thankfully we got four goals and a comfortable win. We’re the ones on the pitch; we have to take a lot of responsibility for Moyes leaving. We’ve had a tough week and there’s been a lot of negativity towards us as a team. We were hurt by that and we wanted to put that right. It’s important for us to end the season well.”
The former Everton player continued speaking about the switch of managers in the club as he praised Ryan Giggs and the work he has already been doing with the champions of the Premier League.
“Giggsy has come in, he’s a really experienced player and he’s built to be a manager,” he said. “We can see that as players, we can see how he’s handled himself since he took over. Giggs has got all the credentials to be the next boss but that decision is down to the board.” Rooney said.
This 4-0 victory against Norwich City gives Manchester United hopes of at least finishing the season on a high note and snatches a spot in the Europa League for the upcoming season.
Louis van Gaal is a favorite on taking charge of Manchester United when the season ends as he will have plenty of time for him to add another club into his list of teams, that the Dutch tactician has coached throughout a career which has seen him coaching teams such as Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Ajax just to name a few.
